Programme: Horizon Europe – EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe”
Duration: 38 months (September 2026–October 2029)
Countries: 11
Coordinator: ECOLISE
CoPlan’s role: Project Partner

SOILSTICE is a Horizon Europe project funded under the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” (Mission Soil), with CoPlanas the Albanian partner. The project aims to advance participatory soil governance by bringing together local and regional authorities, citizens and land managers to co-create Territorial Management Agreements (TMAs) for the protection and restoration of soil health. It will support the implementation of 40 TMAs across 11 countries, while strengthening institutional capacities, soil literacy and citizen participation.

Led by ECOLISE, SOILSTICE brings together a large and highly diverse European consortium comprising universities and research institutions, European and international networks, civil society organisations, environmental and rural-development organisations, and numerous local and regional authorities. CoPlan contributes expertise in territorial planning, governance and capacity building in South-East Europe.

As a Mission Soil project, SOILSTICE contributes directly to the EU Mission Soil ambition of achieving 75% healthy soils by 2030
