National Activism Day 2025 – United for a Greener Future
Nad2025 was organized under the GreenAL project – “Supporting Civil Society Environmental Organizations 2024–2027”, which is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) with funds from the Swedish Government funds, and implemented by Co-PLAN, Institute for Habitat Development, in cooperation with VIS Albania and COSV – Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo.
The opening event, “Green Voices – Acting to Shape Albania’s Environmental Future”, featured welcoming remarks on the importance of activism for environmental protection from Ms. Anila Bejko, Executive Director of Co-PLAN, Institute for Habitat Development; Mr. Erik Illes, Head of Development Cooperation at the Swedish Embassy in Tirana; and from Ms. Anuela Ristani, Acting Mayor of Tirana Municipality.
The event also featured Mr. Mattias Goldmann, founder of 2030 Secretariat, who delivered an inspiring keynote speech emphasizing the crucial role each individual in society plays in addressing challenges related to climate change.
National Activism Day 2025 prizes
As part of the ceremony, several awards were presented to recognize the contribution of those who are turning environmental protection into a daily mission:
- The Green Organization Award was given to AOS.
- The Green Activist Award was shared by Ms. Denisa Kasa and Mr. Oljam Dervishi.
- The Green Community Award went to Natyralistët.
- The Green Enterprise Award was presented to FLORUM.
More than 40 organizations and activists also participated in the Activism Fair held in “Europa” Square in Tirana, while over 30 organizations across the country engaged communities from north to south in raising awareness and promoting action on environmental challenges.
The ceremony was broadcast live on Co-PLAN’s social media channels.
