Public hearing held on the Municipal Action Plan for Energy Efficiency in Mirdita

At the public hearing on the Municipal Action Plan for Energy Efficiency of Mirditë Municipality, the “EFFORT” project presented the measures aimed at improving the energy efficiency of public buildings in Mirditë. The project will develop sustainable practices for the use of renewable energy sources in Mirditë, reduce energy consumption, manage buildings, and renovate buildings with energy-efficient solutions.

Energy Efficiency in Mirdita – “EFFORT” expected outcomes

During the public hearing, attendees were also informed about the expected outcomes of the project, which include the assessment and energy audit of 10 public buildings in Mirditë Municipality and the drafting of local energy efficiency plans to be implemented in the short term. The project also involves drafting technical projects for the installation of innovative equipment (photovoltaic panels, central heating systems, and thermal insulation), and the installation of innovative energy-saving equipment in the third year of the project (photovoltaic panels in 10 public buildings), including piloting the installation of a thermal heating system in one building in Mirditë. The project also focuses on capacity building for improving energy efficiency practices and informing the local community about these practices.

 

 

The “EFFORT” project is implemented by Mirditë Municipality, Junik Municipality, and Co-PLAN, and is funded by the European Union through the IPA Cross-Border Albania-Kosovo program.
